Loaded Dogs
This is a great one to cook for a crowd. You can load up lots of different toppings and sauces and let everyone make their own loaded dogs. It's also very easy to cook a large number of hot dogs in your oven at once, so a great option for mass catering, too.

Ingredients
- Oil for cooking
- 1 good-quality frankfurter or smoked Polish sausage
- 1 hot dog roll
- fillings and toppings of your choice
Instructions
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet.
- Add a little drizzle of oil to the pan, then add the sausage.
- Cook for a few minutes.
- Flip over and cook for a few more minutes, until the outside has developed a good sear and the inside has reached 70 °C/158 °F.
- Slice the hot dog roll lengthways. Lay the cooked sausage into the roll and then go crazy with your toppings.
The classic filling:
- finely shredded iceburg lettuce
- American mustard
- tomato ketchup
Grilled onion filling:
- sliced pickles
- American mustard
- slow-roasted onion slices
