How long do wood fired pizza ovens take to warm up?
Our wood fired ovens typically take around 20–25 minutes to reach optimal cooking temperature (around 450–500°C). Once they’re hot, you’re ready to cook multiple pizzas back-to-back in just a couple of minutes each.
To speed things up, use kiln-dried hardwoods and keep the door closed during preheating.
What wood should I use in a wood fired pizza oven?
Always use kiln-dried hardwood like oak, ash, or beech. These woods burn hot and clean, with minimal smoke and no nasty chemicals. Avoid softwoods or treated woods, which can release sap and smoke that affect both flavour and safety.
