We’ve been busy helping feed our NHS staff through supporting some amazing charities that have recently been set up to help provide our NHS staff with home-cooked meals during the Covid-19 emergency.

With local restaurants and private caterers having closed due to the crisis, Food4Heroes wanted to use their skills and networks to create a national charity to provide healthy and delicious food to NHS workers.

Through various fundraising events, a team of volunteers, the generosity of food retailers and public donations, Food4Heroes has raised to date a whopping £300,712 and served up 41,016 meals up and down the country. 

DeliVita recently donated a Pizzaiolo Bundle for the Food4Heroes Mega Auction, alongside some other great prizes, the auction raised an outstanding £23,066.

Our team also surprised NHS staff at Salisbury Hospital by serving 60 DeliVita pizzas.  This lunch was organised and funded by Heroes: Help them Help us who are focusing on providing fresh, home-cooked food for the NHS.

Finally, not forgetting our joint efforts with Flavour Management and the fabulous Aldo Zilli.  Once again supporting Heroes: Help them Help us, Aldo cooked up over 60 pizzas for the NHS staff on the frontline at East Surrey Hospital back in April using our DeliVita wood-fired oven.

Aldo said: “After cooking over 60 pizza’s for the Help them Help us charity in one day in this amazing pizza oven, I’ve fallen in love with it.  Perfect pizza, every time. I’ll be using it again this weekend, suns out, pizzas on the menu. Thanks DeliVita”

Food4Heroes is a charity set up to support our frontline NHS staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.  They deliver healthy and nutritious meals that are lovingly prepared by professional caterers and restaurants across England to NHS staff during their long shifts. Each meal costs a maximum of £2 each and Food4Heroes raises much-needed funds to maintain these vital food deliveries.

The charity is also supported by some great personalities including Frank Bruno, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Claire King, Ricky Wilson and Jodie Whittaker.
